ANYONE FOR TEA?

ARRRRRR!!! I heard you all say after reading the weekend chores Math had to undertake over the weekend, whilst all I had to do was brew the tea.
This set the few remaining grey cells I have left buzzing, as I recalled a post that 'Cream' ( blogsite 'Screamer') did on tea. He is easily pleased, just dunk a teabag into a mug of hot water, mush the bag until the colour is to your liking, then add milk and sugar.
If only Math was that easy to please. First I have the choice of which tea his delicate palate is fancying.
Will it be,
1. Ceylon
2. Assam
3. Kenya
4. Ying Zhen-silver needle
5. Organic White tea
6. Green tea
7. A Twinings Fruit tea, this could be orange, mango & cinnamon, cranberry, raspberry & elderflower etc, etc.
8. He might just go for a simple Yorkshire....

The teas one to four have to be purchased from the Tea Merchants in Chesterfield. A delightful shop were you can sample over a hundred different teas, and they are all served in white china teapots with matching cups and saucers. The decor gives you a feel of the Victorian times.

Not only will Math not entertain a bag in a mug, we have to decide on the size of the tea pot, is it tea for one or tea for two, will we want a second cup??????

Tea chosen, the size of the pot picked, I can now start...... Before placing any tea in the pot, once the kettle has boiled I pour a small amount into the pot and then swish it around to warm the pot. Now the tea can be added along with the water. As a general rule, but this can change depending on the strength of the tea and the amount of people drinking it, a teaspoon per person and one for the pot gives the good consistancy Math enjoys. Then six stirs of the tea with a spoon inside the pot, lid and tea cosy on (mine is a designed like a big ginger cat), I leave it to mash, and again this can vary according to taste.

Now the question of milk, it is before or after the tea is poured? Math likes his in before and he has now moved from two sugars to honey. Tea-strainer onto teacup and pour the brown steaming fluid, raising the teapot slightly up and down to make bubbles on the top (which means your coming into money, although I'm still waiting for this part to happen), stir and ENJOY.

So now do you STILL think I've got it easy?????????????

FRIDAY 55 FLASH FICTION. Two Timer

TWO TIMER

Her face cupped in his hands,

He kisses her on the nose.

Two lovers standing together, what a pose...

Who would believe an hour from now,

In another arms she'll lay.

The train rattled away from the station.

She'd waved him out of sight...

Familiar numbers pressed on her phone.

"Hello darling, I'm free tonight!!!!!!!

Well I've done my 55, so I know the weekend is almost here. Gosh! Where did those days go?

We've a hectic weekend coming up, hedge cutting, wallpaper stripping, ripping up the old wooden floor. When I say we, it is a bit of a 'Royal we'. I will be supervising and brewing tea, whilst poor Math carries out the said mentioned chores.

The builders are coming on Sunday to finish (one hopes) my en-suite, then the decorating can commence, wardrobes erected (when they arrive), water bed filled and once again I can return to my bedroom for a good nights sleep. I have been sleeping in the spare room and its just not the same, I am a creature of habit and do not take to change quickly.

So here's wishing everyone a great weekend............................

SEA, SAND, DOGS AND AWARDS

Had to go away at the weekend, we haven't been to the holiday home since the floods, what with one thing and another. We were lucky there was no structural damage, we just lost some wellingtons and old shoes that we left outside, they have been washed away somewhere down the fields (so if you find a pair of pink wellos there mine).

My elder sister was at the coast with her husband who was competing in the National Bowls Championships (sorry to say this must be the most boring game/sport on the planet). So whilst he played, we chatted and drank wine. We talked some more and drank more wine, we then got on to solving the worlds problems and consumed more wine. I was very happy, not so Math as he was driving. I did sing to him on the way home but this didn't seem to raise his spirits. (I had consummed lots of spirts, so I was very happy). My big sister is a bad influence on me, but we enjoyed it so much, her and her husband are coming down to us at the end of October to celebrate my birthday at the coast. Math will be able to join in this time, so hopefully if I'm not called into hospital, it will be a good, if not tipsy, birthday.

I'm a little worried about Math, I know he's a big softy with our dog but surely this is taking it a bit far.

Anyway short and sweet today, I have to pick up my awards from the generous Ciara and get them on my blog. ( I was going to do a long speech about how much pleasure this gave me and my thanks to my family and friends who without their help non of them would have been possible, but I thought you'd have heard it all before).

Thanks Ciara I do appreciate you thinking about me. Just one thought before I go , why do they call them apartments when they are all joined together???????
