I HAVE A DATE WITH MR GORGEOUS!!

Woke up this morning with the early bird songs playing in my ear, looked out the window, sun shining, feels good to be alive.
I'm planning to join my sisters later in the day at mums home, we are preparing it for the decorator. He hopes to make a start painting her lounge tomorrow.
The phone rang whilst I was pouring my second cup of nectar from the teapot, can you guess who it was???????
It was my consultant and his sectary!!!! 'Mr Gorgeous' has returned from the States, he has been displaying my x-rays to a professor and other colleagues out there, and he is now ready to operate on me. He needs a theatre for the whole day, so the first chance for this is September the 10th.
Don't ask me why, but after the chat, my hands were shaking and I had a good old sob. You would have thought I'd be over the moon wouldn't you? Yet if I'm totally honest I'm petrified, I think its because of the complications with my procedure, had it been a normal operation I would have been apprehensive but not so worried about the end result.
Well there it is I have my date, plenty of time to get myself as fit as I can for the event. Maybe this is the kick up the backside I've needed to get my weight down (sorry Math no more home baking).
Nearer the date I'm going to come back on line, mum should be sorted hopefully by then, and any of you that can remember me, I hope will send me those positive thoughts you sent to mum (that helped her so much).
Suppose I should let some of my friends and family know, feel sure you will know the first friend (soul sister) I'll be calling!!!!!!!!

BROKEN WING!!!

What is it they say, if everything is going OK, keep your mouth well and firmly shut!!!!!!
Remember my last post "Happy Days Are Here Again", unfortunately things with mum took a dramatic fall for the worst.
It will be four weeks this Wednesday, that mums neighbours (Roy) daughter had the bright idea of taking my mum to Boston for a days shopping. Nice thought I can hear you all saying, WRONG a big wrong .
There are several factors that make this stupid woman's actions unforgivable, I will list a few, and also add some other points of this woman's ignorant and unintelligent behaviour.
My mother has four daughters, we have all been chomping at the bit to take mum out, but due to the fact that the doctor had told us to take things easy with mum, and seeing for ourselves how exhausted she became after only a short walk , we paced ourselves to go slowly.
Next, since mums stroke, unfortunately she is not always aware of things around her, including her poor mobility. Roy's daughter has my sisters phone number and I feel should have contacted her to check if mum was up to such a shopping adventure before mentioning it to my mum. I would no more dare take her father (Roy) out if he had suffered the same trauma my mother had without consulting her, than fly a pig to the moon.
Boston is a good 80 miles ride from mothers home, it was the market there that they were visiting and to make things worse it was throwing it down with rain. For some unknown reason Roy was sat in a wheelchair with his great grandchild upon on his knee, whilst mum hobbled around on her walking stick. Apparently mum fell and was screaming out in pain, and what happened next is unbelievable but true. The said woman made several attempts to pick mum up into her 4x4 despite her screams of pain. Next she got a complete stranger to pick my poor mum up and put her in his transit van, and take her to Boston Accident & Emergency. For pity's sake how much intelligence do you need to know to call three 9s if any such accident should happen??????? X-rays taken , mum had a broken neck of femur!!!!!

My poor mums awful experience didn't end there, things became far worse and more terrifying. This hospital, should it dare boast the title, made mum wait five days before they could fit her in for a theatre slot. Five days my mum was nil by mouth, five days my mum waited anxiously to be taken to theatre, each day we were told that more serious cases had appeared. Until mum became so ill, bladder retention, dehydration, just to name a few of the life threatening complaints' that because of the neglect, mum was afflicted with.

There are a million and one things that are stated on our complaint that I could post about, but at this moment things are being investigated by the authorities, so I will leave it in their hands.
Fearing for our mothers life, we begged and pleaded with our local hospital to get mum home. Despite it saving us long and exhausting journeys, we wanted her nearer home should the worst happen. Our prayers were answered and mum came to the local hospital five days after her operation. Within 48hrs she started to pick up, although still a very poorly lady her vital obs started to stabilise.
So here we are now, nearly 4 weeks after the fatal trip & fall to Boston. Yesterday mum was moved to a nursing home (beautiful place), the community hospital had no beds for her to move too from the acute ward. So hopefully once again we will build her up bit by bit and try to get her home, shes a tough old bird, and I feel sure she will find her wings.....
Oh by the way, mums neighbours daughter and I haven't crossed paths yet, I'm planning what to say!!!!!!!!!
